Author Appearance & Forthcoming Books

Reading at the Huronia Arts Festival on August 13th

I am honoured to be one of the featured authors at the first Huronia Arts Festival in Orillia this coming Saturday. Other writers appearing at the festival include Terry Fallis, Tomson Highway, Matt Lennox, Rachel McMillan, and Marnie Woodrow.

The Huronia Arts Festival — a family-oriented event promoting and celebrating culture, artistry, and community — will be held at Lakehead University’s Orillia Campus. For details on times and tickets, see their website.

Book Updates

It’s hard to believe I have now written eight novels! The only excuse I have for being so prolific is that all these books were getting bottled up inside me during the years I was focused on my business career.

My latest, I’m happy to say, is the first one set completely in Canada. The Right Side of the River tells the story of murder in a small Southwestern Ontario city during the summer of 1965.

The next book to see print will be Dark the Light, also a mystery set in the past — on the Western Front in World War I and South Carolina in 1926. When Rollie DuFaine’s estranged father is murdered, Rollie has to return home to discover the horrifying secret of a monster who is killing innocent girls on an isolated island. Dark the Light will be published later this fall.

Foggy Sunset, which was previewed in Double Tap, is the next Molly Parsons mystery. It will be released in the new year.

I’ve also written a fourth book in the Sunset series — Stolen Sunset — which we plan to have out late next year.

And then there will be …

Guess I’d better get out the chains to keep my editor at her desk 24/7 for the next several months. Hope she has no other plans, or I’ll have to get Rip and Wilma on the case.
